after years of seeming decline, its refreshing to see the cultural melting pot that is new york firmly back on the global electronic music scene but with the city�s crime rates dropping and a more liberal attitude to partying abounding once more, an invigorated crew of djs and producers are now cropping up with increasing regularity. one such individual is italian-cum-new yorker antonio piacquadio. the ep is nonetheless sure to draw attention as a result of its remixes: both of which arrive courtesy from big-hitters from the techno/house hybrid.the first of these - from cecille mainstay butch � is typical of the sankeys resident, as he jettisons practically all else in favour of a catchy bassline and a smattering of luscious piano keys. in another coup for the label, radio slave then adds his own touch, performing a typical manoeuvre by taking no prisoners via his remix - a stirring concoction of subtle, ominous bells and sporadic, tight grooves.

the ow040 is just around the corner and we are looking forward to this anniversary. on the occasion of this jubilee we have a spezial gift for you. a new artist is entering the ostwind team. we are happy and proud to welcome alex q. after his fantastic releases on musik gewinnt freunde, cliff, mina records, amuse gueule and his own label kleinstadtfelling alex he made a name for himself. the range of his sounds inludes harmonic, deep as well as dubby techhouse and detroitish house. this is reflected on his ostwind ep like a summer rain. this young talented guy from eisenhuettenstadt shows that he could find something good in this cold and rainy summer. the result is a beautiful record that makes us breath calm and deeply and we reminisce about best moments of the summer. we will keep the sun shining in our hearts. the honour of the remix on this anniversary vinyl belongs to marcus schmidt vs. double c. two friends of alex who present us a a wonderful dub house track. thanks to alex and his friends for this unique release. we wish them good luck and all the best fort he future!

david nizet has been around in the belgian underground techno scene for ages, we mean early nineties. he was part of the 6th sense collective during the mid 90s with releases on dave angels rotation and the legendary belgian label re-load records. despite a detroitish nostalgic touch in his productions, small modern minimalist influences gently creep in to all his tracks to turn them into brilliant pieces of never outdated, or should we say evergreen, techno.
